From a Dream to
Duluth's Favorite Table

It all started in 1993 when founder Marco Deluca opened a tiny pizza counter on Superior Street with nothing but a wood-fired oven, a handful of recipes, and an unshakeable belief that great food could build community. Pizza Luce wasn't just about pizza — it was about belonging.

Over the years, we've grown from a single counter to a full dining destination, but our soul remains the same: locally sourced ingredients, handcrafted dough stretched fresh every morning, bold signature sauces, and a kitchen team that treats every pizza like a work of art. Duluth has been our home, our canvas, and our greatest inspiration.

Today, three decades later, we're still that same corner kitchen at heart — just a little bigger, a little bolder, and endlessly grateful for every guest who has shared a meal with us.

Three Decades of
Bold Flavor

1993

The First Slice

Marco Deluca opens Pizza Luce at 11 E Superior St with a wood-fired oven and six signature pies. Lines stretch down the block on opening day.

1998

Full Restaurant Expansion

Expanded to a full dining room, added craft beer selection, and launched the beloved "Create Your Own" pizza builder — a Duluth first.

2005

Best Pizza in Duluth Award

Voted #1 pizza restaurant in the Duluth News Tribune readers' poll for the first of many consecutive years running.

2012

Farm Partnership Program

Launched our farm-to-table sourcing initiative, partnering with six local Minnesota farms for vegetables, meats, and specialty cheeses.

2019

Catering & Events Launch

Opened our full-service catering arm to bring Pizza Luce's artisan flavors to weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.

2024

Digital & Delivery Upgrade

Launched online ordering, expanded delivery coverage across Duluth, and introduced our new seasonal rotating menu program.

With 30+ years of culinary passion, Marco built Pizza Luce from scratch. His legendary dough recipe and relentless pursuit of flavor are the foundation of everything we serve.
